Holy Mass

Having the Mass in one's own language is always special. It allows fan active participation of the faithful in prayers, hymns, and responses of the Mass. Celebrating mass in native language is always fascinating and make us feel home away home, since it is interwined with our culture and reminds our roots. Worshiping in classical Tamil brings more life to our celebration and makes us feel comfortable.

At SHTCG, Tamil priests are often invited to say mass but on some special occasions, other language priests are encouraged to celebrate with us. Mass follows the roman rite, creed and other worship songs are prompted in traditional way of Tamil mass. Old and new devotional songs are sung during the mass which reminds our days back home.

Musicians

Music is an art form most suited to expressing our groups' unity in the Body of Christ. Different voices, different instruments, different parts are blended to offer a single, living, and unified work of beauty. We have formed a terrific choir team with a number of professional singers and musicians that bring lively music during our celebrations.

Benediction

As Catholics, we believe that Christ is truly and substantially present in the Eucharist. We perform the rite of Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament after every mass. During Eucharistic Adoration, we "watch and wait", we remain "silent" in His Presence and open ourselves to His Graces which flow from the Eucharist. By worshiping the Eucharistic Jesus, we become what God wants us to be! Like a magnet, The Lord draws us to Himself and gently transforms us involving "the contemplation of the Mystery of Christ truly present before us”. Many of our community members have been highly appreciative of the time we give for this rite and many believers attend our mass just to be part of the Eucharistic Adoration.

Fellowship

Fellowship is the indispensable means of accomplishing the God-given purpose of the church. It helps us to Love one another, serve one another and edify one another. It helps with feeling the warmth and unity of our group when one gets involved and getting to know more people. This collaborative effort is cognizant of the fact that our group has it’s separate traditions and ensuring that every visitor socialize and make new friends within our community.
